Introducing Brooke Halpin

Introducing Brooke Halpin

Brooke Halpin, an accomplished composer, author and painter, has joined creative forces with Barry Keenan. Together they have written 14 new songs and co-founded a new band called LAYERS. Brooke has an extensive musical background. A graduate of California Institute of the Arts and a recipient of a MacDowell Colony Fellowship, Brooke has composed the scores for several films including the TV Movie, “I Am Not a Freak,” “More Than Broken Glass: Memories of Kristallnacht," and the Academy Award winning film, “Molly’s Pilgrim.” He also worked as a pianist/composer for the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, the Martha Graham Dance Company, and composed the ballet score for Rudolph Nureyev’s last ballet entitled, "Cristoforo." Brooke has authored three Books about the piano; “The Everything, Learn to Play the Piano In No Time”, “The Only Basic Piano Instruction Book You’ll Ever Need” and “Playing the Piano and Keyboards, Everything You Need to Know”

Brooke's musical knowledge and experience, combined with his great talents and love for Rock n Roll, makes him a powerful compliment to the prolific, Pop-Rock songwriting genius of Barry Keenan.
